Smith was ordered to pay restitution to the Humboldt County Treasurer in the amount of $4,089 in $100 monthly payments on the first of every month.
Jose Gadiel Acosta Jr. pleaded guilty to failure to decrease speed or use due care under certain circumstances.
The court ordered a $250 fine + $105 AA. Restitution in the amount of $727.01 was ordered to be paid to the Humboldt County Treasurer in monthly payments on the first of each month. Misdemeanor charges of suspended plates and no proof of insurance were dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.

Dale Louis Orwick pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense. The court ordered 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year on the condition he serves two days with credit for four hours time served.
The remaining 44 hours was converted to 88 hours of house arrest. The court ordered a $00 fine + $125 administrative assessment + $60 forensic fee.
The court ordered a victim impact panel, DUI school and a breath interlock device for 185 days with credit for time served of 210 days. A misdemeanor charge of driver’s duty of due care was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office.
