The Lowry High School boys soccer team picked up a 3-1 win over North Tahoe on Friday afternoon in Tahoe City, Calif., to secure its first postseason berth since 2015.
The Buckaroos led 1-0 at halftime and picked up two second-half goals against the Lakers to finish fourth in the Northern 3A 'A' division at 9-7-2.
Lowry will take on South Tahoe on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Churchill County High School in Fallon.
Lowry and South Tahoe split its two regular season meetings. South Tahoe won 5-0 on Sept. 13, in Lake Tahoe, while Lowry overcame a 3-0 deficit in Winnemucca on Oct, 19, to beat South Tahoe 4-3.
The last time Lowry was in the regional playoffs, it played and lost to South Tahoe.
If Lowry wins, it will play the winner of Sparks and Yerington on Friday at 3 p.m.
In the other half of the regional soccer bracket, North Valleys takes on Dayton at 9 a.m. and Fernley, the top seed from the 3A 'B' division faces North Tahoe at 1 p.m.
The winner of those two matches play on Friday at 1 p.m.
The championship match is set for noon on Saturday in Fallon. The two finalists advance to the NIAA 3A State Championships in Reno on Nov. 15-16.
