Twenty Three baseball teams from Fernley, Fallon, Yerington, Lovelock, Elko, Spring Creek, Dayton and Winnemucca battled it out last weekend on five different parks across our town.
Erin Entwistle is the Winnemucca Badgers Treasurer and was the director of the “Bombs for Moms” tournament.
“We want to thank our sponsors, they really came through for us, and a huge shout out for the Winnemucca Convention and Visitors Authority," Entwistle said. "We would not have been able to make this event happen with them or the volunteers.”
Thor Welch is the coach of the Spring Creek Burners 11 and under baseball team.
“I have been coaching for eight years," Welch said. "I like watching them grow and get better every year. If people get the opportunity to volunteer they should come and do it. It is really rewarding. These kids make friends that will last a lifetime.”
