It took until Tuesday afternoon for the Battle Mountain High School baseball team to know for sure that it was playing in the Northern 2A Regional Championship later in the week.
North Tahoe lost two-of-three games to White Pine to start last week, giving Battle Mountain the No. 4 seed in the tournament.
Battle Mountain opened with No. 1 seed and host Yerington, on Friday morning and suffered a 13-1 loss.
The Longhorns saw their season end later on Friday afternoon, with a 9-7 loss to West Wendover.
Yerington beat Incline 12-2 to with the Northern 2A championship and both teams advanced to the state championships this weekend at The Meadows School in Las Vegas.
