The women could not field a team for the trip to Truckee last Saturday, but the Lowry High School men took four swimmers and they brought home a couple of wins and numerous other medal finishes for their efforts.
Hunter Lewis won the 100 meters freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 0.36 seconds, and he took second in the 50 meters freestyle in 27 seconds.
Lewis teamed up with Aidan Maher, Tristan Miller, and Evan Jeppsen for a silver medal in the 200 meters medley relay (2:08.55) and the 200 meters relay (1:53.86).
“The boys all did really well,” said LHS assistant swim coach Jennifer Yetter.
“It was a late meet and we had to travel for four hours that day. We didn’t get done until eight o’clock. Tristan swam the 500 meters freestyle and knocked eight seconds off of his best time.”
Miller won the 500 meters freestyle with a time of 6:11.94 seconds, and he took sixth (28.82) in the 50 meters freestyle.

Jeppsen took third (1:06.89) in the 100 meters freestyle and fifth (28.39) in the 50 meters freestyle.
Truckee posted a team score of 199 to Lowry’s 35, and Fernley was victorious 132-51.
“We are working hard this week building up some strength and doing some workouts before spring break," said LHS head coach Shelby Ruff.
