The Battle Mountain High School baseball team dropped both ends of a Northern 2A doubleheader on Friday against Incline at Bishop Manogue High School in Reno.
The Highlanders won both games 13-3, as the Longhorns fell to 2-3 in league play. The final game of the series on Saturday was postponed due to weather.
In game one of the doubleheader, Battle Mountain opened the scoring in the first inning with a single run and added two more runs in the top of the second to go in front 3-2, but the scoring ended there.
Incline tied the contest with a run in the bottom of the second and pulled away from there. The Highlanders scored three runs apiece in the third and fourth innings to go in front 9-3. Incline ended the game in the fifth inning with four more runs.
In game two, Battle Mountain used a two-run second inning to tie the game at 2-2, only to see Incline score twice in the bottom of the second to lead for good.
The Highlanders added seven runs in the fourth inning and ended the contest with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Longhorns host the Nighthawks on Saturday for a doubleheader starting a 10 a.m.
