Battle Mountain’s Danny Diaz and DJ Martinez were named to the Northern 2A all-league teams, which is selected by the league’s coaches.
Diaz was a second-team choice and Martinez was chosen to the honorable mention squad. The Longhorns finished sixth in the Northern 2A but made a run in the regional tournament and came up just short of reaching the state tournament.
West Wendover’s Eric Correa was named the Most Valuable Player, while Incline’s Eliam Nolan-Bowers was the Defensive Player of the Year. Incline’s TT Valosek was the Offensive Player of the Year and Incline’s Tim Kelly was the Coach of the Year.
Incline had three players on the first team, including Ian Smith, Nolan-Bowers and Valosek. They were joined by Yerington’s Steven Keats and Moses Bob and West Wendover’s Armando Gonzalez and Tommy Kelly.
Joining Diaz on the second team were Incline’s Johnny Redfern and Matthew Cornell, North Tahoe’s Liam Beckett-Walsh and John Zapata and Silver Stage’s Travis Broughton.
The honorable mention team was rounded out by Ahmed Sanousi (Coral Academy), Luis Esparza (West Wendover), Ricky Martinez (North Tahoe), Eddie Happy), Kenneth Crissinger (Silver Stage), Anton Gamsby (Silver Stage), Denton Thom (Yerington), Brad Rye (Incline) and Kincade Waggener (White Pine).
