The Lady Bucks had Sydney Connors nominated as first team in the 3A North and second team in State.
Connors averaged 9.8 points per game this season and 4.9 rebounds.
Fallon seniors Lani and Leta Otuafi were voted Co-Players of the Year.
The other first team 3A players included Alexis Elquist from Elko, Jaiden Sullivan from Fernley, Jasmine Yadeskie from Spring Creek, and Truckee’s Ava Seelenfreund.
Truckee also took Coach of the Year with Dave Shalvis.
Lowry’s Sierra Maestrejuan grabbed a second team 3A spot, averaging 9.2 points and 3.6 boards per contest on the season.
Joining her on the second team were Elko’s Jersey Tsosie, Celeste Condie from Fernley, Hailey Naccarato from South Tahoe, Spring Creek’s Caitlyn Dimick and Alayna Grosz, and Annika Thayer from Truckee.
Juli Garcia received honorable mention for the Lady Bucks, putting up 7.1 points and 2.8 rebounds each game. In addition, Dayton’s Aleea McGill-Howe, Katie Ross from Elko, Fallon’s Chandler McAlexander and Madi Whitaker, Fernley’s Kaitlynn Bunyard, North Valleys’ Cheyenne Vien, Kaitlynn Janese from South Tahoe, Caroline Aguilar from Sparks, Spring Creek’s Kylee Dimick and Shaylynn Yaunick, and Elena Friedman from Truckee all received honorable mention.
The Lady Bucks finished the season 14-4 in league play and 17-11 overall under first year Lowry coach Melanie Thurmond. They qualified for the state tournament again this year in the 3A North Regional playoffs, entering as the number three seed and defeating Elko 43-42 and Spring Creek 46-31, before falling to Churchill County (Fallon) 67-48 in a game for seeding purposes at state only.
The representatives from the Northern 3A on the first team state squad consisted of Lani and Leta Otuafi from Fallon, Jasmine Yedeskie from Spring Creek, and Ava Seelenfreund from Truckee.
Fallon’s Anne Smith was voted State Coach of the Year.
The second team in state was represented by Connors from Lowry, Alexis Elquist from Elko, and Fernley’s Jaiden Sullivan.
At the State Tournament in Las Vegas the girls ended their season in the first game when they lost to Moapa Valley 43-38.
