Obituary: Jerry Frank Morgan

Jerry Frank Morgan went to be with the Lord February 2, 2019.  Jerry was born on July 26, 1949 in Alturas, CA to Less and Millie (Alexander) Morgan. 

He is preceded in death by his father Less, his life partner Carol, and his son-in-law Kacey Platt.  

He is survived by his mother, Millie Morgan of Red Bluff, CA, his children Les Morgan of Ontario, OR, Misty (Ash) Corlett of Big Piney, WY, Tosha Platt of Portland, OR, Jonathon Morgan of Winnemucca, NV, and Frank (Katalin) Morgan of Billings, MT.  He is also survived by his siblings Lucy Anna, Ray Morgan, Betty (Snooks) Smith, Dixie Chaves, Bonnie (Manuel) Infante, Elva Morgan and Tom (Denise) Morgan.  

He loved being a Granddad to his 12 Grandchildren:  Cody, Kacie, Carson, Rosie, Susannah, Lillian, Samantha, Caitlyn, Jaxson, Isaac, Allison, and Austin.  

He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. 

After the military, Jerry worked for several big ranching outfits starting in the 70’s, covering Northern Nevada and Northern California. From the Winecup-Gamble Ranch, to Sierraville, to Gerlach, he loved “buckarooing”. He was also quite the mechanic.

Moving to Orovada in 1985-86, he worked at Pinegrove till 1989 when he moved his family to the Rocking Chair Ranch in Paradise Valley. He spent quite a few years in Paradise and made a life there for his family. He made quite a few close friends here. 

He loved teaching his kids, especially when it came to shooting. 

He met his life partner, Carol, there and was with her for 10 years until her passing.

Jerry will be missed by many and was loved by all. 

A celebration of life will be held in Paradise Valley on Sunday, August 4th in the late afternoon/evening at the Fireman’s Park. An exact time will be published in the paper as August nears.
