Football
The 2019 Battle Mountain football season opens on Friday, Sept. 6, at home against Silver Stage at 7 p.m. The Longhorns hit the road on Saturday, Sept. 14, to take on Coral Academy at Wooster High School in Reno.
The Longhorns are back home on Friday, Sept. 20, to play West Wendover and hit the road for two consecutive games against White Pine (Sept. 27) and a non-conference match-up with American Falls on Friday, Oct. 4.
Battle Mountain finishes its home slate of games versus North Tahoe (Oct. 11) and Pershing County (Oct. 24). The Longhorns travel to Yerington on Friday, Oct. 18 and close out the regular season at Incline on Friday, Nov. 1.
The playoffs begin on Nov. 8 and the state championship is set for Saturday, Nov. 23.
Volleyball
The Battle Mountain volleyball team opens with two tournaments, beginning on Aug. 23-24 in White Pine. The Lady Longhorns make their home debut on Aug. 30-31, with its two-day tournament.
Battle Mountain opens Northern 2A play with four consecutive matches on the road. Battle Mountain heads to the Lake Tahoe area to play Incline (Sept. 6) and North Tahoe (Sept. 7) and then travels east to face West Wendover (Sept. 13) and White Pine (Sept. 14).
The Lady Longhorns are back home to play Coral Academy on Sept. 20, with Yerington visiting the following day.
Its a quick turnaround for Battle Mountain, as they will play Coral Academy and Yerington on the road the following week. They close out the four-match road trip against Pershing County (Oct. 4) and Silver Stage (Oct. 5).
Battle Mountain plays its final six league matches at home: West Wendover (Oct. 11), White Pine (Oct. 12), Pershing County (Oct. 23), Silver Stage (Oct. 26), Incline (Nov. 1) and North Tahoe (Nov. 2). A road non-conference match with Eureka is thrown on Oct. 19.
The Northern 2A Regional Championships are set for Nov. 8-9 and the NIAA State Championships are Nov. 15-16.
Boys and girls soccer
The Battle Mountain boys and girls soccer teams open their season in Ely on Aug. 31-Sept. 1, at the White Pine Tournament.
The home-opener is set for Friday, Sept. 6, against Dayton, with the boys playing at 11 a.m. and the girls at 1 p.m. The Longhorns hit the road the following day for Lake Tahoe to play Whittell.
Battle Mountain is back home to play Fernley (Sept. 13) and Yerington (Sept. 14), before hitting the road for a couple weeks. The Longhorns travel to White Pine (Sept. 20) and West Wendover (Sept. 21) and Fernley (Sept. 27) and Yerington (Sept. 28). In a match for the girls only, the Lady Longhorns travel to Lovelock on Friday, Oct. 4, to play Pershing County.
Battle Mountain is back home to play White Pine (Oct. 11) and West Wendover (Oct. 12). The final road match is in Dayton on Oct. 18, and Whittell visits on Oct. 19. The Lady Longhorns close out the regular season on Oct. 25 at home against Pershing County.
