Obituary: Ken McKinsey

Ken McKinsey was born November 26, 1935 in Modesto, CA and died January 13, 2019 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV of viral pneumonia.

He was predeceased by his parents, step-parents, and grandparents, as well as his brother Ronnie.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth, of Battle Mountain, NV, his daughter, Rachelle John and son-in-law Brooklyn of Tustin, CA, grandson A.J. Martinez of Torrance, CA, and granddaughters Macayle, Briallen, and Brenna John of Tustin, CA. Other survivors include his brother, Rick (Lori) McKinsey of Gillette, WY, sister Rayneen McClellan of Modesto, CA, sister-in-law Dee Stephens of Milford, CT, and brothers-in-law Everett Stephens of Delta, CO and Jerry (Kay) Stephens of Platteville, WI, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He is also survived by his beloved Brittany Spaniel Millie.

Ken was in the U.S. Navy in the 19502 working as an electrician on an aircraft carrier.

After being honorable discharged, he worked for Duval Corporation in Kingman, AZ from 1967 until his transfer to Battle Mountain in 1972. He retired from Battle Mountain Gold in 1992 as an Electrical General Foreman.

Ken was an avid hunter and sportsman, having played golf and shot trap in his younger years.

No services are planned, as per his wishes. His ashes will be spread at a family gathering next summer.
