The Battle Mountain High School girls basketball team collected a pair of wins last week on the road.
Battle Mountain traveled to Lovelock on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and came away with a 50-32 win over its rival school.
The game was close after eight minutes of play, with the Lady Longhorns leading 10-8. However, Battle Mountain pulled away with a 31-12 run in the second and third quarters. The Lady Longhorns outscored the Mustangs 15-5 in the second quarter and 15-6 in the third.
The Lady Longhorns were not challenged from there.
Sruti Bhakta and Addi Slaybaugh paced the Lady Longhorns with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Sheradyn Slaybaugh added six points and Grace Melver and Kaybrie Nield each had four points.
Drue Domagala, Alexis Andrade and Kira Smith had three points apiece.

Battle Mountain was back on the road Saturday in Reno and beat Coral Academy 55-10. The Lady Longhorns jumped out to a 26-3 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Neid out scored Coral Academy by herself with 12 points to go with eight rebounds. Bhakta also had more pints than the Falcons with 11 and added five assists Smith and Domagala each had 10 points.
“We shot the ball real well,” said BMHS coach Paul Tremayne. “The game was never in doubt. We need to get ready for the rest of league schedule.”
The second half of the Northern 2A season gets under way this week and Battle Mountain hosts two games. West Wendover visits Friday for a 6 p.m. tip and White Pines is in town on Saturday for a 2 p.m. start.
After the home games, Battle Mountain will spend the next two weeks on the road.
Battle Mountain will look to avenge a one-point loss to Silver Stage on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Longhorns conclude the Lyon County swing on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Yerington at 3 p.m.
Battle Mountain heads to Lake Tahoe on Thursday, Jan. 31, to play Incline and play at North Tahoe on Friday, Feb. 1. at 2 p.m.
Battle Mountain is back at home on Tuesday, Feb. 5, to host rival Pershing County at 6 p.m.
