Obituary: Gilbert “Bud” Burgess

Gilbert “Bud” Burgess passed away due to natural causes at home at age 45 on January 1, 2019 in Winnemucca, Nevada. Bud was born on October 27, 1973 in Fontana, California to Hugh Hampton Burgess & Linda Fern Chisam.

 He graduated from Lowry High School in 1992 and then attended the University of Phoenix and graduated with an Associate’s degree in computing and became an I.T. Technician. 

He served his country by serving in the Navy for some time, there he traveled abroad.  A couple of years later, Bud married the love of his life, Stacy Nichole Burgess on July 22, 1999. 

He lived in various areas, but he always considered Winnemucca his home. He worked at many places such as Les Schwab and Diamond Plastics, and in his early days, as a bartender. 

Bud enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to and singing music, working on computers, helping people with programming and formatting their electronics and playing video games with his children.

Bud is survived by his wife Stacy Nichole Burgess, he is also survived by his Step-mother Nancy Lee Burgess and his Mother Linda Alba, his two sons Layne Domnick Burgess and Chandler Hampton Burgess, and his daughter Kylee Nichole Burgess. He also has one grand-daughter, Nicole Lee Burgess, as well as his Grandmother, Christie “GG” Burgess. 

He has many siblings, his sister Alice Thibedeau, and his brother’s John Burgess, Mike Fuller, Thomas Williams, Adam and Fame Angle.

He also has a lot of life long friends made over the years, Peter and Ernest McCormick, Shane and Ale Winchell, Lonnie Hammargren, and Kenneth Peters, and a Teacher that taught his whole family, from him down to his kids, Paul Criddle. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Hampton Burgess, and his Auntie Christie Marilea Burgess.
