As we say goodbye to Lynda, keep in mind that she has gone to a wonderful reunion in heaven where she will be joined by her husband Craig Flippen, her parents Dorothy and Melvin Barkdull, two of her brothers, Neil and Dean Barkdull as well as numerous other family members including grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who passed away before her.

She reluctantly left behind her older brother Gary Barkdull, her beloved daughters, Angela Gonzalez, Monica Henao and Quincee Heinz, four grandchildren, Michael Gonzalez, Sheena Tapia, Christopher Taylor and Alissa Heinz, four great grandchildren, Nalalia, Jayton, Jadrian and baby Manuel Leonardo (who was born January 28th just in time for her to hold him and see his precious face.) She also leaves behind a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who all loved her dearly.

Lynda was born in Winnemucca, Nevada and spent most of her life in Battle Mountain. She spent brief periods in British Columbia, Seattle, Silver Peak and Carlin but, she always hurried back to Battle Mountain.

She was a hard worker and did the best she could to take care of her children. Her favorite jobs were with her daughter Angela at The Coffee Bar and at Hair Mania where, owner, Jennifer Iturriaga became like another daughter to her.

During her year-long battle with leukemia, Mama Lynda’s girls were constantly on the go, between Battle Mountain, Elko, Reno and Salt Lake City. Her dying wish was to return to Battle Mountain. The girls including Jen, moved heaven and earth to make that wish come true.

Lynda was a fighter and swore that she would not die. She didn’t. “She didn’t die because, We, the ones who loved her, will forever keep her alive in our hearts and memories.”
