Orphans out of Reno won the 2019 Don Peters Memorial Tournament held in the first weekend of February at Spare Time Bowl.
The Winnemucca Inn provided $2,800 in prize money and Winners Inn contributed $1,000. Nearly 110 bowlers, with 94 of them from out of town took part in the event. Over $10,000 in prize money was awarded as 36 teams competed.
Orphans won the top prize of $3,000 and team members include Danny Dunbar, Paul Bellino and Scott Carpenter.
Strike Zone Pro Shop (Charlie Washburn, Charlie Gumina, Dave Shoji) finished second and earned $2,500. Beyond Rev’s Pro Shop (Monty Chrans, Jeff Morley, Mitch Wareing) placed third and won $2,000. What Up Dawg (Todd Thompson, Jason Robinson, Gene Weight) were fourth and won $1,200.
Boise Boys (Josh Groves, Mike Connelly, Jamie Flynn) placed fifth and 3 Guys (Jacob Dobkins, Dave Price, Shawn Horenberger) were sixth.
The Curb (Larry Sather, Jeremiah Bullock, Allan Eichorn) placed seventh and Foley’s Pro Shop (Kevin Foley, Pat Foley Sr., Patrick Foley Jr.) finished in eighth.
The high team game went to Seahawks (Ray Ward, Allan Ward, Matt Morgan) with a 711 series. Chevelle Holstein had the high individual game, with a 299. The high average out of the money went to Jayson Hedrick at 232. 25. Nick Scherer had the high individual points won/out of the money with 20.
Beyond Rev’s Pro Shop led the way in Saturday’s results, while 3 Guys and Foley’s Pro Shop were second and third, respectively.
