Frank G. Ferjanec was born on January 22, 1926 and passed away on November 23, 2019 in Battle Mountain with his family at his side.
His parents were Steven and Christine Ferjanec. They were from Czechoslovakia. His parents became citizens of the U.S.A.
Frank grew up in New York, helping on his family’s farm. He was the youngest of eight children. When he was 17 he joined the Army and was soon sent to Europe as a Mess Sargent. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He met the love of his life, Elvira, and was married July 4, 1947.
Through the years they lived in New York, Florida and Nevada. Frank worked for Remington who was a tool maker.
They moved to Nevada in later years to be close to their son Steve and his wife Karen. Frank attended the Senior Center when he could. He had a joke for all. Some were funny and some were not so funny.
He was also a greeter and enjoyed all of his meals there. Frank and Karen celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary in Battle Mountain. Frank loved to go on trips with the seniors on their van.
He was always asking when the next trip was scheduled. He was always interested in news from family and friends.
The V.F.W. gave him military honors and also he was a Grand Marshall of the 4th of July Parade in 2017.
Frank loved what he did and did what he loved. He will be remembered by many.
He is survived by his wife, Elvira and son Stephen and his wife Karen.
