The high school football season gets underway today (Wednesday), as the Battle Mountain High School football team holds its first practice of the year at 6 p.m.
The Longhorns will host a scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 24, as Pershing County and Lincoln County will make the trip.
The Battle Mountain JV opens its year on Aug. 30 in West Wendover against White Pine.
The varsity squad season-opener is Friday, Sept. 6, at home against Silver Stage at 7 p.m.
BMHS volleyball starts Aug. 12.
The Battle Mountain volleyball team will start practice/tryouts on Monday, Aug. 12, at 8:30 a.m.
The first week of practice (Aug. 12-17) will be from 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m.
The second week of practice will go from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
Battle Mountain opens its season on Aug. 23-24 at the White Pine tournament.
