July 18

Benjamin Seth Lockett pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery first offense, amended from an original charge of felony domestic battery by strangulation. 

The court ordered a $200 fine + $105 administrative assessment + $35 special assessment fee with credit for time served. 

The court ordered 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year with credit for time served and 48 hours of community service to be completed.

The court ordered Lockett to complete 26 sessions of batterers intervention counseling. Lockett was advised that pursuant to NRS 176.337 possession, shipment, transportation or receipt of firearm or ammunition may constitute a felony. 

A second charge of battery with substantial bodily harm was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations. 



July 23

Veronica Nava pleaded guilty to driving under the influence first offense. 

The court ordered 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year on the condition she serves two days with credit for two days time served. 

The court ordered a $400 fine + $125 administrative assessment + $60 forensic fee with a victim impact panel and DUI school ordered to be completed.

A breath interlock device was ordered for 185 days. A misdemeanor charge of duty upon damaging unattended vehicle or other property was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office. 



Benjamin Joshua Devries pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

On count one, the court ordered 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year, stayed jail time on the condition he serves two days, with credit for one day time served and the remaining 24 hours converted to community service.

The court ordered a $400 fine + $125 administrative assessment + $60 forensic fee with a victim impact panel and DUI school to be completed and a breath interlock device ordered for 12 months. 

The defendant was ordered to attend and pay for counseling as outlined by the counselor for no less than six months. 

On count two the court ordered a $100 fine, suspended on the condition the defendant completes counseling. 



July 24

Nathaniel Lyle Schwinghammer pleaded guilty to basic speed 1-10 miles per hour over the limit. 

The court ordered a $50 fine + $65 administrative assessment. A misdemeanor charge of fail to yield to an emergency vehicle was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations. 



James Carter Griffith pleaded guilty to driving under the influence first offense. 

The court ordered 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of two years on the condition he serves two days, with credit for one day time served. Griffith was ordered to pay a $400 fine + $125 administrative assessment + $60 forensic fee + $100 special DUI fee and complete a victim impact panel and DUI school.

 A breath interlock device was ordered and waived as there is not a provider within 100 miles. The defendant was ordered to no alcohol, no controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician and no further criminal activity other than minor traffic violations. A misdemeanor charge of speed was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.



A charge of basic speed 11-20 over limit against Steven Eccles was amended to rural speed pursuant to plea negotiations. The court ordered a $390 fine + $115 administrative assessment. 



A misdemeanor charge of domestic battery against Pablo Angel Lopez was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office as the case was unable to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
