The Lowry High School swim squad went to Douglas High School last Saturday and brought home a lot of hardware.
Aidan Maher won the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 1.81 seconds and Matthew Lizanetz came out on top in the 100-meter backstroke at 1:14.58.
Hunter Lewis (2:29.29) grabbed gold in the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle (58.94), while Charles Gonin took the crowns in the 50-meter freestyle (25.45) and the 500 meters freestyle (5:54.12).
Adaya Goldblatt was first in the 100 meters breaststroke (1:34.97) and Mackie Grady was first in the 500 meters free (7:44.61).
"Aidan and Tristan Miller both dropped more than five seconds in the 500 freestyle and Matthew qualified for regionals in the 200 individual medley," said LHS coach Shelby Ruff. " Adaya also qualified in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, and Mackie qualified in the 500 freestyle.”
Carson City hosted a meet at the Aquatic Center on Friday, and results were not available at press time.
The Buckaroos travel to the Sparks Northwest Pool on Friday, May 3 for the last meet of the regular season.
The JV Invitational Championships will be held at the Carson Valley Swim Center on Tuesday, May 7.
On May 10-11 the Regionals will be held at the Carson Aquatic Center, and the State Championship meet will be held there on Saturday, May 18.
