Longhorn baseball drops three games to Lions

The Battle Mountain High School baseball team took to the road last weekend and dropped three games to Yerington in Northern 2A action.

The Lions swept a doubleheader on Friday afternoon, winning 13-3 and 11-4. Yerington won the finale on Saturday 18-3.

Battle Mountain is currently fifth in the Northern 2A at 7-10, with fourt games remaining in the league schedule. Battle Mountain has a three-game series with rival Pershing County this weekend. The Mustangs are last in the Northern 2A at 2-16. 

The first game is set for Friday in Battle Mountain. The series moves to Lovelock for the final two games on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.

Battle Mountain still has a make-up game with Incline.

Yerington leads the league at 12-1, followed by Incline (15-3) and West Wendover (10-4). North Tahoe is fourth in the league at 7-5 but still has a number of games still to play.

The Northern 2A Regional Championships are set for May 10-11 at Yerington High School.
