Last Sunday, drivers in five different classes took on their competition on the dirt track at the Winnemucca Regional Raceway.
Terryn Cassar from Winnemucca was a participant in the event.
“I have been here before, but it has been a while," Cassar said. "I like the cameradie and it is a good family sport; fun for everybody around. I am here today with my wife Nicole and my daughters Ciara and Emmi.”
The family was parked backwards in their pick up truck, sitting on the tailgate watching the action from an elevated spot that gave them a bird’s eye view.
“It cost $10 for the front row parking spot plus the ticket cost,” Cassar said.
Cory Sample took the IMCA Modified division, Joe Quilici won the Hobby Stocks,
Michael Quilici was on top of the Dwarf Cars, Walt Fraizer was the Pure Stock champion and Galen Reese was the winner in the Mini Modified.
Bradie Vincent was a fan at the races.
“This is my first time here; my boyfriend races," Vincent said. "I am here to see how the track is going to be for this year and I like the competition.”
