Obituary: Allen Dwayne Conn

Allen Dwayne Conn, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2019 at his home in Enoch, UT. He was born on April 22, 1931 in Beloit, KS to Clarence and Margaret (Burnham) Conn.

He graduated from Beloit High School in 1949 then served in the Navy during the Korean War on the ship Norton Sound. He met his wife, Irene at a USO dance and they were married April 24, 1954 in San Fernando CA.

They were later Sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. He graduated from the Ventura College with a degree in Agriculture and worked for the University of Nevada in Reno and Wadsworth. He worked as a butcher at the Country Store in Fernley, NV.

During his time in Fernley, he was the Branch President and Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He moved his family to Winnemucca, Nevada in 1976. He worked on several local farms, in the mining industry and as a greeter at Walmart before retiring to St. George UT. He was an active member of the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, holding many callings and especially enjoying his time as a temple worker in the Reno Temple.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Jack, son David, son in law James and great grandson, Brendan. 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene and children, Linda (James), DeeDee (Jay), Bill (Lisa) and Susan. He has 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 12 at the Enoch West Stake Center with the internment in the Cedar City Cemetery.
