Misty Stene has been announced as the new girls soccer coach at Lowry High School to replace Ed Partee, who resigned this past month to spend more time with family.
Stene has an extensive background in women’s soccer that includes a 16-year playing career with club soccer, high school soccer, and college soccer after receiving a scholarship to play at Lake Erie College in Ohio.
“I am a stay at home mom with my 17 month-old daughter,” Stene said. “I love coaching, I still have the passion for the game that I did when I was playing. My husband got a job here as a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper and that brought us out here.”
Coach Stene served as an assistant girls’ soccer coach at Galena High School and comes to our program highly recommended, according to Tim Connors at Lowry High School.
“We look forward to all of the success that we anticipate Coach Stene will bring to our Women’s Soccer Program,” Conners said.
Coach Stene said the she will be meeting with the Junior High and Lowry High School girls soccer players in the near future.
“I am excited for the upcoming season,” Stene said. “I am coming in to build a program. I am not planning on being here for one or two seasons; I am here for the long haul. I want us to be competitive this next season and continue to be competitive each year. I am excited to meet all of the girls and figure out the teams and get going with it."
