Marie Ann Jones, 71, of Winnemucca, Nevada, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2019 in Reno, Nevada surrounded by her family.
She was born February 18, 1948 in San Bernardino, California to Earl and Eppie Larabell. She was the eldest of three children, Valerie and Richard.
After graduating from Eisenhower High School, Marie was a waitress in Colton, California, until she met her true love, David Jones.
They were married on June 14, 1975 and lived in the San Bernadino area until they settled in Bishop, California in 1985, where she raised her two children, Heather and Zack.
In 1994, they relocated to Winnemucca, Nevada, where her and her husband eventually retired.
Marie was a very devoted wife and mother and proud of her family.
She loved family get togethers; any chance to spend time with them was important to her. She spent a lot of time on the phone, making sure she kept in touch with family and friends across the miles.
Often, you could walk in the house and hear her talking in Spanish to her mom, aunts or a cousins. She enjoyed meeting new friends, visiting with old friends and was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She also loved taking long drives to check out the scenery and entertain her friends with her memories and stories. She was an avid music lover and was always listening to the radio and dancing around in her kitchen and cooking.
Her gift of cooking delicious food was often shared with friends, family and local bands she had befriended. Marie never met a stranger.
Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling and laughter, will never be forgotten.
Marie was a loving wife to David M. Jones of Winnemucca, Nevada; a caring mother to Heather Hickman of Winnemucca, Nevada, and Zack Jones and his wife, Elma of Yucaipa, California; a dear sister to Valerie Larabell of Palm Springs, California and Richard Larabell and his wife, Melissa of Apple Valley, California. Marie will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Larissa Jones, Jared Hickman and Jesse Jones, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eppie Larabell.
At Marie’s request, no services will be held. She will be put to rest with her parents in San Bernadino, California.
