The Battle Mountain High School boys soccer team was ready to play two matches on the road this past weekend but found out on Friday afternoon they were only playing one.
The Longhorns were scheduled to play Whittell on Friday but the Warriors were not there. Whittell had canceled its season earlier in the week but did not tell Battle Mountain about the situation.
Dayton blanks BMHS
Battle Mountain did get a game in on Saturday and lost 1-0 to Dayton. The lone goal occurred in the first 40 minutes of play.
Battle Mountain is now 3-2-1 in league play.
Battle Mountain travels to Ely on Friday to take on White Pine at 5 p.m. The road trip moves to West Wendover on Saturday.
