Obituary: Lori Dawn Holt

Lori Dawn Holt, 51, was born on November 20, 1966.  On Saturday, August 25, 2018 she passed away at her home in Winnemucca, Nevada.

A fifth generation Nevadan, Lori was born and raised in Winnemucca but as an adult spent several years living in Montana, Northern Idaho and Washington.

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend; she will forever be known for her infinite kindness, her love of children and animals and her empathy and non-judgmental approach to life.

A true original, Lori would have defined her bliss as riding on the back of a horse, a pack of rescued dogs by her side and Chris LeDoux playing in the background.  A natural-born artist with exceptional talent, she never failed to see the beauty in nature and animals, which she could translate onto canvas effortlessly.  To know Lori, was to know a special soul.

Lori is survived by her brother Bill Holt, sister-in-law Kim Holt, nephews Tegan and Rylan Holt and niece Joelle Holt of Spokane, WA; her sister Joy Holt and brother-in-law of the heart Shawn Nelson, niece Renee Nelson and nephew Giovanni Galarza of Winnemucca.

She also leaves behind her four-legged best friend Chase, along with a vast and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Paradise Valley Community Church in Paradise Valley, NV with a luncheon to follow at the local community hall.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Lori’s memory with a donation to your local animal shelter.
