The Battle Mountain High School volleyball team hit the road for the first time in league action this past weekend and suffered two losses in Lyon County.
Battle Mountain was in Silver Springs on Friday to take on Silver Stage and lost in five sets. The Nighthawks used their home-court advantage to win the first two sets by the same 26-16 score.
The Lady Longhorns bounced back to win the third and fourth sets by the identical scores of 25-18.
However, Silver Stage fought back in the fifth set 15-11 to hand Battle Mountain the loss.
Isabella DeAllah led Battle Mountain with 10 kills on the night, as sophomore Lolly Argueta added five kills. Uliana Willingham had four kills and Drue Domagala had three kills. Argueta and Willingham added four and three blocks, respectively.
Domagala led the Lady Longhorns with 28 assists and Julia Ramirez and Jimenez had 13 and six digs, respectively.

Battle Mountain
Battle Mountain was back on the road Saturday to take on perennial power Yerington on Saturday afternoon. The Lions swept the match 25-17, 25-10 and 25-15 to drop the Lady Longhorns to 1-3 in the Northern 2A.
Willingham had a team-high six kills, while DeAllah added five kills and four blocks. Domagala had two aces and 17 assists.
Battle Mountain looks to get back on the winning track this weekend, hosting Incline on Friday at 5 p.m. and North Tahoe on Saturday at noon. Pershing County makes the short trip to Battle Mountain on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. start.
