The Battle Mountain High junior varsity volleyball team opened up Northern 2A play this past weekend on its home floor. The Lady Longhorns took on West Wendover on Friday and lost 25-22 and 26-24 to the Wolverines. Battle Mountain was back in the gym on Saturday to take on White Pine. Battle Mountain hits the road this weekend to Lyon County to play Silver Stage on Friday at 4 p.m. and Yerington on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Lady Longhorns return to Battle Mountain on Friday, Sept. 21, to play Incline. North Tahoe visits Battle Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 22 and Pershing County makes the short trip on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
