Ex-felon returns to prison

Jeremy Alan Ludlow recently pleaded guilty to a charge of ex-felon in possession of a firearm, a category B felony and was sent to prison for 19-48 months.

During the court hearing, additional criminal history was submitted to the court to attach to the pre-sentencing investigation report prepared by the department of parole and probation. The additional information was submitted because it was reported that during the pre-sentence investigation, Ludlow said he had only been arrested on one occasion as an adult, but it was later discovered that he had 16 previous felony convictions, beginning in 2002.

Ludlow’s legal counsel, Public Defender Matthew Stermitz said that Ludlow wanted probation and asked for his client to be directed to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous for his apparent substance abuse issue.

Potential penalties for the felony charge included one to six years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine, with the eligibility for probation.

Ludlow decided not to give a statement to the court and was sentenced to 19-48 months in prison with credit for time served of 70 days. He was remanded to carry out the prison sentence and was also ordered to pay a $153 DNA collection and analysis fee, $25 administrative assessment fee and $250 public defender fee.
