The Lowry girls golf team placed second in its last two matches of the regular season to bring home the Northern 3A title for the year.
The Lady Buckaroos placed second in Fernley on Tuesday shooting a 395.
Elko (373) won the tournament and Spring Creek (397) finished third.
Truckee’s Ryan Flynn won the individual title with a 75, Lowry’s Tatyana Carlson (78) and Sarah Sarbacker (83) from Elko rounded out the top three.
"It was a super-windy day in Fernley, so we struggled a little bit," said LHS coach Savannah Talbott.
On Wednesday, Lowry hosted its only home meet of the season at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.
The Lady Bucks placed second again, carding a 388.
Elko won the Lowry Invitational with a 373 team score and Spring Creek (416) finished third.
Flynn shot an 80 to win the individual title again. Carlson (83) was second and Sarbacker (85) from Elko finished third.
Awards for the 2018 season were given out after the Lowry Invitational, which was the final regular season tournament of the season.
Lowry took the team season honors, with Elko and Spring Creek qualifying for state also with their second and third place finishes respectively.
“We are having a great season, we finished first in the Northern Nevada 3A by a good amount and we are going into state on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday in Truckee,” Talbott said. “The girls are in good spirits. They are really excited to go. I am proud of them for making it to state. They made my first year as the coach great; I am really excited to take them to state.”
Angelina Martinez was one of seven Northern 3A golfers that earned second team regional honors. Lowry's Hannah Havens made the first team.
Tatyana Carlson was named as the Northern 3A player of the year. She shared the honor last year as a junior.
The NIAA 3A State Championship take place Monday and Tuesday in Truckee.
Lowry, Elko and Spring Creek will represent the Northern 3A.
Pahrump Valley and Boulder City will make the trip to Truckee for the Southern 3A. Pahrump Valley won the Southern 3A Regional Championship with a two-day total of 729 and Boulder City was second at 732.
The tournament will be held on Schaffer's Mill Golf Course and both rounds start at 10 a.m.
