Rita Castaneda went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Humboldt General Hospital. She was 97 years old.
Rita passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 12, 1921 in Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico to Trinidad Castaneda and Felipa Barragan. She was a loving wife of 58 years to Miguel Mendoza who preceded her in death in 2006. Rita was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family.
Rita is survived by her sons Agustin, Miguel and Emiliano, and her daughters Fidelina, Isabel, Felipa, Eloisa, Carmen and Alida as well as numerous grand- children, great grand-children and great-great grand-children.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
The Holy Rosary will start at 10:30 am followed by Holy Mass at 11:00 am. To honor her wishes Rita will be laid to rest next to her loving husband in Mexico.
