The Northern 3A ‘A’ League selected its all-league and all-state soccer players last week and three Lowry girls were recognized.
Lowry’s Hannah Growcock was selected as the second-team goaltender.
Growcock had 305 saves on the year, averaging 16.9 saves a game.
Meanwhile, Hailey Fernandez and Macy Munroe both received honorable mention.
Hernandez was the leading goal scorer for Lowry this year with eight, while Munroe had one goal.
South Tahoe's Giovana DeLoia was named the Most Valuable Player and South Tahoe's Mark Salmon was named the Coach of the Year.
The first-team, all-league team was comprised of De Loia, Kelsey Hogan, Marley Befu, Morrison Salmon and Lillie McGuire from South Tahoe; Truckee’s Ava Seelenfreund, Amber Simonpietri and Emily Monson.
Olivia Sproehnle and Maddie Roberts from North Tahoe, Elko’s Mackie Griggs, Spring Creeks’ Kierra Watson, and Samantha Hines from Fallon rounded out the group.
The second-team, all-league players that joined Growcock included North Tahoe’s Maile Markham, Delila Quinn and Jamie Lanza, in addition to South Tahoe’s Riley Turner and Jenna Pevenage. Laura Golden and Raquel Lagana from Incline, Brenna Hendrix from Elko, Kenna Hamilin from Fallon, North Valleys’ Emily Mendoza, Lindsey Morrill from Spring Creek and Truckee’s Isabel Gonzalez were also selected for the second team.
Joining Fernandez and Munroe on the honorable mention team were North Valleys' Ximena Mora, Destiney Ayala, Paige McGarry and Maria Villa, Fallon's Sydney Gusewelle, Incline's Haley Miller, South Tahoe's Quinn Simpson. Elko's Olivia Smales and Hope Garvin, Truckee's Britta Winans and Sparks' Patty Estrada and Toselin Navvaro.
First-team, all-state honors went to Truckee’s Ava Seelenfreund, Emily Monson and Amber Simonpietri, South Tahoe’s Giovana De Loia and Kelsey Hogan, Maddie Roberts from North Tahoe and Anna White from Whittell.
Second-team, all-state selections were South Tahoe’s Marley Befu, Morrison Salmon and Lillie McGuire, as well as Samantha Hines from Fallon, Kierra Watson from Spring Creek, Mackie Griggs from Elko, and White Pine’s Whitney Prengel.
