Obituary: Paula Joan Besaw

Paula Joan Besaw, 74, passed away from natural causes at home with her family by her side on November 4, 2018 in Winnemucca, NV. She was born on September 13, 1943 in Whitinsville, MA to Paul Joseph and Celia Elizabeth Fortin. After some years she married the love of her life Lawrence Besaw until his passing in 2007. They joyfully continued their life journey together. She had lived in a few different places starting in Whitinsville, MA; Albuquerque, NM; Moriarty, NM and finally making her home in Winnemucca, NV. 

Paula used to work as a high school nursing aid and was a dedicated Jehovah Witness. Some of her hobbies included knitting, working on crossword puzzles, reading her Watch Towers and her Bible, watching old movies and TV shows. Her favorite sayings were “Take refuge in the name of Jehovah”, “Your word is truth” and “Be courageous and strong, and Jehovah your God is with you”.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Besaw; her sons Joseph, Richard and Daniel Besaw; grandchildren Derek, Steven, Manual, Andrew, Crystal, Brinda and Edelene; great grandchildren Monica, Myah, Emma, Jeremiah, Jasper and Jayden; her sister Ann Besaw.

Paula was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Besaw and a great grandson Coby JJ Besaw.

The family wishes to send a heartfelt thanks to Genesis Home Health Care, Guiding Light Hospice of Elko and Misty Paterson.
