Lowry High School’s Ren Mattson, Tazmin Milton, Jacob Marriott and Ridge Ricketts were named to the Northern 3A all-league honorable mention team.
Mattson was named as a pitcher on the all-league squad and was 2-3 for the Buckaroos in nine appearances with a 5.44 ERA. Mattson struck out 31 on the year and walked 21.
Milton was chose as a utility player. He threw 52.1 innings as a pitcher, the most on the Buckaroos’ roster. He struck out 43 and walked 16 to go with a 3.48 ERA. He had one win on the year. As a batter, Milton was second on the team with a .382 batting average. He had 26 hits and 10 RBI.
Marriott was selected at first base and had a team-high batting average of .387. He was second on the team with 29 hits and second in RBIs at 16. He also pitched for the Buckaroos this season.
Ricketts was picked at shortstop and batted .333 for Lowry. The junior had a team-high 30 hits to go with 12 RBIs, seven doubles and three triples.
Dayton’s Trevor Burrows was named Player of the Year in the Northern 3A and JR Murphy was selected as the Coach of the Year.
The first-team pitcher included Churchill County’s Brenden Larsen, Elko’s Julian Loera and Fernley’s Zach Burns.
Elko’ s Kamren Backherms and Austyn Marin earned first-team honors at first and second base, respectively. South Tahoe’s Peyton Galli was chosen at third base and Spring Creek’s Dakota Larson was picked at shortstop.
The first-team outfield included Justin Schmidt (Dayton), Jake Wickizer (Churchill County) and Cooper Jones (Elko). Truckee’s Derek Lafferriere was picked at catcher and Churchill County’s Edgar Alvarado was named as the designated hitter. Spring Creek’s Thomas Ledford was named the first-team utility player.
The all-league teams are chosen by the nine coaches in the Northern 3A.
