Thursday, May 17, 2018 Jamie Jo Nachiondo, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister passed away at the age of 54 after battling a long illness. Jamie was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Jamie was born June 29, 1963 in Winnemucca, Nevada to James and Josephine Lowe.
She grew up in Winnemucca and attended Albert M. Lowry High School.
Jamie grew up with the love of her life, John Manuel Nachiondo, as their families have been friends for many decades. John and Jamie were married October 22, 1983 in Paradise Valley, Nevada.
Jamie was the rock that took care of her husband and children every day. Jamie was always actively involved with her children’s activities, and kept the house running.
Jamie enjoyed spending time with her family, in the sun and on the water. John and Jamie could often be found floating in the lake, relaxing on the swim deck. Jamie was the life of the party and everyone would smile when she entered the room. She was one of the most kind and caring people, who was always happy and smiling.
Jamie is survived by her husband John Nachiondo; children Jennifer (Matthew) Obieta, Jeremy (Serena) Nachiondo, and Jared Nachiondo; grandchildren Nerea Obieta, Josani Obieta and Ariya Walraven; mother Josephine Lowe; sisters Toni (Michael) Murphy and Lisa (Terry) Baker; father-in-law Jess Nachiondo; and many nieces and nephews.
Jamie was preceded in death by her father James Lowe; maternal grandparents Juan and Maria Ugaldea; paternal grandmother Clara Shrontz; and mother-in-law Eleanor Nachiondo.
Per Jamie’s request no services will be held. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. The family would like to thank all who offered care and comfort during this time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Jamie’s name.
