Even though the calendar says May, the Lowry High School football team will be busy this month.
There will be a parents' meeting on Tuesday, May 15, at 6 p.m. at Lowry High School and spring ball starts the following week.
Spring football for ninth through 11th grade will take place May 21-24 from 3:15 p.m.-5:15 p.m. at Lowry High School. Eighth-graders will practice from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Winnemucca Junior High School.
The eighth-graders will practice with the high school players from 3:15 p.m.- 5:15 p.m. at the high school from May 29-31.
The Buckaroos will travel to Fernley for a team camp from Monday, June 18, through Wednesday, June 20.
Summer weightlifting will begin on Monday, June 25, and have two sessions from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. and 5 p.m.-7 p.m. That will run Monday-Thursday throughout the summer. There will be no lifting on July 4.
The start of the high school season is Wednesday, Aug. 1, with mandatory heat acclamation days through Saturday, Aug. 4. Times will be announced at a later date,
Mandatory double days begin Monday, Aug 8 and the Buckaroos will practice from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Lowry opens the season against Pahrump on Friday, Aug. 17, in Winnemucca.
