The Humboldt County Rodeo Club has stayed busy with rodeos in Washoe County and Minden/Douglas over the past two weeks.
Quint Bell led the way for the boys in the average at the Washoe rodeo held April 21-22. He was first in the tie-down roping average with a time of 26.010 seconds. He won the first performance with a time of 13.280 and was third in the second performance at 12.730. Bell was first in the steer wrestling average as well, despite just one time performance. He did not record a time in the first performance but won the second performance at 7.840.
In addition, he paced the field in boys cutting with 145 points. He was third in the first performance with 72 points and first in the second performance with 73 points.
His younger brother, Cade Bell, was third in the average in tie-down roping. Bell placed third in both performances with times of 15.980 and 17.140, respectively. Bell was fourth in the boys cutting average with 142.50 points. He had scores of 71 and 71.50.
The brother duo were fifth in the team roping average after placing third in the first performance with a time of 12.810. They did not have a time in the second performance.
On the girls side, Julianne Montero finished second in the goat tying average at 17.240. She won the first performance with a time of 8.010 and was sixth in the second performance at 9.23. She was 19th in the barrel racing average with a combined time of 36.268 and 32nd in breakaway roping with one time of 4.52.
Megan Miller and Frankie Baumeister won the average in team roping at 25.780. The duo were second in the first performance with a time of 12.600 and third in the second performance at 13.180.
In addition, Miller was seventh in the barrel racing average at 35.755. She was sixth in the first performance with a time of 17.771. Miller placed 17th in the pole bending average at 55.374. She was 10th in the second performance with a time of 22.852.
Baumeister placed 13th in the breakaway roping average on the strength of a seventh-place finish in the first performance at 4.41. She did not have a time in the second performance. Bailey Reynolds was 16th in the breakaway roping average at 13.740 after runs of 7.32 and 6.42.
Kayla Curtis. Marie Curtis and Reynolds were second, third and fourth, respectively, in the rifle shoot. Seth Duncan was ninth. Duncan placed second in the trap shoot, while Marie Curtis was third. Kayla Curtis placed fifth.
Rodeo Club moves over to Douglas/Minden
This past weekend the rodeo club was in Minden for a two-day rodeo.
Quint Bell was second in the steer wrestling average. He did not have a time in the first performance and was second in the second performance with a time of 12.170.
Bell was fifth in the tie-down roping average at 45.840. He finished sixth in both performances wit times of 20.720 and 25.120. The elder Bell was third in the boys cutting average with 133 points. He placed second in the second performance with 70 points.
Cade Bell was ninth in tie-down roping with a combined time of 58.080. He was fifth in the second performance with a time of 22.630. bell was fourth in boys cutting after finishing second with 67 points in the first performance.
The brother duo were second in team roping with a time of 25.730. They were the runner in the second performance at 12.710.
Miller led the girls for Humboldt County, placing third in barrel racing at 36.238. She had time of 17.946 and 18.322. In addition, Miller was 22nd in the pole bending average and 11th in team roping along side Baumeister.
Marie Curtis and Sierra Fears were 19th and 23rd in the barrel racing average and Marie Curtis was 16th in breakaway roping. Montero placed 14th in goat tying and Kerstin Christiansen was 20th in pole bending.
Marie Curtis, Kayla Curtis and Reynolds led Humboldt County to a 2-3-4 finish in rifle shoot. Marie Curtis took home the top spot in trap shoot and Kayla Curtis was sixth.
Humboldt County makes its way to southern Nevada this weekend for the Lincoln County rodeo. The regular season ends om May 12-13 in Wells.
The Nevada Junior High/High School Finals will take place May 25-29 in Winnemucca.
