The Lowry swim team started the season strong on Saturday with a win for both the men's and women's teams against Sparks and regional qualifying times for nearly half the team.

Nathan Perkinson led the team, winning the 50-yard freestyle and setting a new school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.79.

Sophomores Tristan Miller and Aidan Maher dominated in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing first and second with times of 6:30.25 and 6:52.18 respectively.

The women's team had a strong showing in the distance events as well. Halle Sullivan won the 500-yard freestyle with a regional qualifying time of 7:45.53. Backstroke was another strength for the women's team as all three Lowry competitors made the Regional time cut.

Lowry is competing at Northwest again this weekend in the Aqua 5, a penthathalon style meet.
