Janice M. Giacometto, 80, of Winnemucca passed away at Humboldt General Hospital on March 14, 2018.
Janice was born on September 8, 1937 in Portland, Oregon to Kurt and Marian Johnson. She married George Giacometto they spent their lives in San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, Yerington, NV and finally settled in Winnemucca.
She worked for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for thirty years as a dispatcher giving direction and guidance to the officers and community.
Janice greatly enjoyed painting, playing piano and play games of all types from board games to video games; she loved watching her favorite soap operas, her beloved San Francisco Giants and 49’ers and Jeopardy. She loved hanging out with her beloved cat Willie and daily visits from her daughter.
She is survived by her son Robert Giacometto and daughter Suzanne Lesley.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband George, her mother Marian Fredrickson and her father Kurt Johnson.
In lieu of flowers it is asked to please make any donations to the Winnemucca Cat Rescue in her name.

Graveside services for Janice will be held on Monday March 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Winnemucca Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her departed husband George.
