Jennifer Rouse and Daniel James Winch came to Pershing County’s 11th Judicial court on Monday for back-to-back review hearings. Judge Jim Shirley presided.
Both defendants retained John B Routsis as their attorney. Deputy DA Todd Banks represented the State of Nevada.
On June 6, 2016, Rouse pleaded guilty to the possession of a controlled substance.
On June 16, 2016, Winch pleaded guilty to similar charges.
They each entered into diversion programs. As part of the agreement, Rouse attended the Sequoyah Treatment Center. Winch also completed treatment.
First, the court held Rouse’s hearing.
“I’ve received documents from Mr. Routsis filed on Feb. 28, 2018,” said Judge Shirley.
Routsis summarized the documentation.
“Miss Rouse has completed her treatment program,” he said. “She’s done exemplary. I ask you to allow her to withdraw her guilty plea and dismiss the case.”
DDA Banks agreed. He supported the motion to withdraw the plea.
“Miss Rouse has satisfactorily done everything that the court asked of her,” he said.
The judge granted the motion.
Next, Routsis entered a motion to allow Winch to withdraw his guilty plea. He asked Judge Shirley to dismiss the case.
Again, DDA Banks agreed.
The judge granted the motion.
