Clifford Robert Winkler, 83, of Winnemucca, Nevada passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2018 following a long time illness.
He was born on November 16, 1934 in Seattle, Washington to Clifford B. and Marjorie J. Winkler. He graduated from Lincoln California High school and then moved on to graduating from Locksmith school in Reno, Nevada he also graduated from Sacramento State School of Architecture. Cliff served in the United States Army from 1953 to1959 serving during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 and served in the Army Reserve from 1959 to1961. His duties included Military Occupation EOP, vehicle repair and heat and cooling system repair.
Clifford moved to Winnemucca, Nevada in 1979 and bought into Anderson Lock Service in 1980 and worked there until his retirement in 2007. He married Irene Hasel. He later married Lilah Colleen Smith.
He was a member to the Masons (Kerak Temple). He enjoyed raising roses, woodwork and creating fishing fly’s.
He is survived by his children Ellen Irene Winkler, Charles Robert Winkler and Janay Winkler- Donahue; his grandchildren Sven P. Winkler, Anja M., Kai D., Tyra K., Ryan and Joseph Young, his great-grandchildren Ian Alexander(age 11), Ray C.(age 4) and Dean Winker(age 1). He is also survived by his brother Harry E. Winkler U.S. Air force retiree who lives in Great Falls, Montana.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lilah C. Winkler and his parents.
