French Ford Middle School held a celebration assembly on Wednesday, February 14 that recognized students who have participated in activities that focus on academics, physical fitness, and being an outstanding citizen. The 6th grade “Friends of Rachel” group organized the assembly by creating different categories of awards to be given out in recognition of the many students who are doing wonderful and amazing things at our school. In the process of planning this assembly, the “Friends of Rachel” asked Mr. and Mrs. Munk if they would prepare some songs for the assembly. The 5th and 6th band combined for the assembly and put on an amazing performance for our students, parents, and staff.
As part of our school initiative to have a positive learning environment, we did several drawings for prizes for those students who received NED awards. Students receive NED awards at FFMS for displaying the behavior of “Never Giving Up, Encouraging Others, Doing Your Best, and Being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful.” Some of the prizes that were awarded consisted of Amazon gift cards and technology devices. We had many families join us in the celebration as all parents were invited to the assembly. As families came to watch, they received a raffle ticket at the front door, and we had a couple of parents win prizes also! FFMS wants to recognize the outstanding deeds and accomplishments that are taking place at our school. We have wonderful students, and we want to recognize them for all of the positive things they are doing!
