Leah Lou Fetterly, 55, of Battle Mountain, Nev., passed away February 20, 2018, on her way to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Mont., of a sudden heart attack.

Leah was born November 24, 1962, in Sturgis, S.D., to Harry and Eileen Murphy. She grew up in Park Rapids, Minn., surrounded by her grandparents her aunts and uncles and cousins. In the 1970’s, her family moved to Jerome, Idaho, where Leah attended Jerome High School.

In 1979, she met Ron Fetterly and they were married on April 18, 1980. Ron’s daughter, Sarah, came to live with the couple and Misty was born in June of that year. In September 1981, the couple welcomed their first son Ron into the world. In 1985, the couple moved to Battle Mountain, where in December of 1986 they welcomed their final child Eric into the world.

In the years following her last child's birth, she worked around Battle Mountain in place like Lemaires grocery store, The Owl Club, and Ace Hardware while going back to school to get her GED.
