If Mother Nature relents, the Lowry High School spring sports teams will see its first action of the year this weekend.
The Lowry varsity baseball team will be in Reno for the Mike Bearman Tournament. Lowry is under the direction of first-year head coach Andy Harmon, who replaces Ron Espinola.
The Buckaroos will be busy with six games, beginning with Reno on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Lowry will play Reed and Truckee on Friday at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively. The Buckaroos close out the tournament on Saturday against Enterprise (Redding, Calif.) at 9:30 a.m. and Colfax, Calif., at 1 p.m.
Lowry opens Northern 3A play at Fernley on Friday. March 16, and Saturday, March 17.
The Buckaroos make their home debut on Friday, March 23, against Spring Creek at 3 p.m.
The Lowry JV team will be in Yerington this weekend for a two-day tournament.
The Lowry varsity softball team is schedule to travel to Sacramento, Calif., this weekend for the Elk Grove Tournament.
The Lady Bucks will play five games, starting with St. Francis, Calif., on Thursday at 5 p.m. and Reed at 6:45 p.m.
Lowry takes on Oakmont, Calif., and Lincoln, Calif., on Friday at 5 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., respectively. The Lady Bucks close out the tournament against Rocklin, Calif., on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Buckaroo track and field team will be in Fallon on Saturday for a League meet, beginning at 9 a.m.
Lowry will be at home to close out the regular season on Saturday, May 5.
The Lowry golf team will wait until next week to get going, opening the season on Monday at Dayton Valley Country Club in Dayton. The Buckaroos travel to Fernley on Tuesday.
The Buckaroo's lone home tournament will be Wednesday, March 21, at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.
