Obituary: Betty Lou Burton Koska

Betty Lou Burton Koska, 79, of Winnemucca, Nevada, went to be with the Lord suddenly while at home, on June 18, 2018.

Betty was born in Austin, Nevada to Bob Burton and Nona Hall Burton on August 19, 1938.

Betty was married to Manfred Ernst Koska for many years. Betty is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed being a member of the Swinging Seniors Choir and volunteered for many years at the annual Humboldt County Fair. Betty loved horses, trail riding, hunting, and singing.

Betty survived by her daughters: Crystal Durand Thompson (Stanley Thompson), Melanie Koska, Iris Schmitt (Sasha Perrin). Grandkids: Donald Durand (Ana Carla Galvao Durand), Daniel Durand, Christina Durand, Fessy Alexander (Ciano Sweat), Chantell Koska (Awni Abbas), Manfred Koska II (Samantha Skwara), Reinhold Everhart, Brienna Everhart, Natalie Schmitt (Ryan Mingneau), Zachery Schmitt. Great Grandkids: Aidan Durand, Bryson Thompson, Lilly Garcia, Mieka Alexander, Faith Alexander, and Rylie Mingneau

Betty survived by her sisters and brother: Rose Duncan, Pearl Berry, Gloria Jean Elquist, and Jack Burton. There are also many nephews and nieces. Her father, Bob Burton, and mother, Nora Hall Burton. Sisters: Irene Weiss, Amy Geehloed, Reene Burgess, Ruby and Charlette Burton Brothers: Bobby, Robert, James, Billy, and Russell Burton, Husband and daughter: Manfred Koska and Gloria Miller proceeded in her death.

Memorial services 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 111 W. McArthur Ave, Winnemucca, Nevada and graveside services at Austin Cemetery 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28. Betty will be missed by many. She loved going to the senior center for lunch with all her friends. Thank you to the residents at the Larios Arms for making her feel at home.
