Obituary: Robert E. Anderson

Robert E. Anderson, 73, passed away on July 5, 2018 at home in Winnemucca, NV. Robert was born on July 7, 1944 in San Francisco, California to Glen & Buni Anderson.

After he graduated from high school he served his country in Korea.

He spent twenty years working in the gaming industry along with many other small businesses such as a restaurant and an art gallery. The last couple of years he spent in high end sales, mostly art galleries. After retiring in Winnemucca nine years ago he began to raise pigs as a retirement hobby.

Robert was a man who had many hobbies and things he enjoyed doing in his life such as travelling around the West with his wife Colleen. He always said that there was plenty to see in our own country. He enjoyed finding new hot springs.

He met Colleen Hanify in Reno, NV in 1982, they became best friends and Robert latter married his best friend Colleen in 1986. They spent the rest of his life happily together traveling and exploring.

Robert is survived by his wife Colleen Hanify- Anderson and his children from a previous marriage Deborah Thrasher and Robin Ashcraft.

He had 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters, along with numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews; his mother Buni Anderson; his brothers Henry and Carl Anderson and his sister Marsha Anderson.

Robert was preceded in death by two days by his father Glen Anderson.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on July 21, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at his and Colleens home in Winnemucca with burial in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.
