Hal Ingram Ostler, 61, our beloved dad and papa passed away suddenly July 1, 2018 at the University of Utah Hospital after a long battle with illness.
Hal was born July 2, 1956 in Nephi, Utah to Raymond and Voneal Ostler where they lived until 1961.
The family then moved to Gray’s Lake, Idaho. Hal attended Gray’s Lake Elementary and attended Soda Springs High School where he graduated in 1974.
On July 7, 1977 Hal married Jill Kirby in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had four children Amelia, Stuart, Tyson, and Blake. During this time, they lived in Grays Lake, and Richmond, Utah. Hal then married Sue Puckett on September 1, 1989. Hal and Sue had three daughters Becky, Tiffany, and Kelsey. They were later divorced.
For many years Hal drove long-haul cattle truck for LW Miller’s then moved to Battle Mountain, Nevada to work in the gold mines. Hal worked in the gold mines for 25 years before retiring in 2013.
After retirement, Hal moved to Georgetown Idaho where he spent his days on his ranch, riding horses, and enjoying the beautiful country side.
Shortly after, Hal returned to Spring Creek, Nevada, where he lived with his youngest daughter, Kelsey and her family. He enjoyed spending time outside on his tractor, riding his horses, and spending the day with his grandkids.
Hal is survived by his seven children: Becky &Toy Buell of Gillette, Wyoming; Amelia Ostler of Lewiston, Utah; Stuart & Alona Ostler of Preston, Idaho; Tyson & Brittany Ostler of Battle Mountain, Nevada; Blake & Amanda Ostler of Lewiston, Utah; Tiffany & Rex Jackson of Spring Creek, Nevada; Kelsey & Chance Barton of Spring Creek, Nevada; two sisters Sharon & Paul Curtis of Boise, Idaho; Maxine & Leon Spencer of Battle Mountain, Nevada; one brother Greg & Brenda Ostler of Grace, Idaho; and 19 grandchildren.
Hal is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Voneal Ostler.
Services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Mink Creek Ward Chapel in Mink Creek, Idaho at 12:00 p.m.
The family will visit with friends and family on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery.
