The Winnemucca Gold Rush softball teams traveled to Yerington this past weekend to compete in the state championship softball tournament. The 8U and 10U teams both brought home the gold with state championships for their efforts. The 8U team went up against the Nevada Sharks and they were the only two teams in the division. Winnemucca won three games on Saturday by scores of 6-0, 5-0 and 3-2. Winnemucca won a single game on Sunday 3-2. The 12U squad finished third while the 14U crew came in second place.
