Winnemucca Gold Rush turning in strong performances this summer

14U finishes second in Fernley.

The first tournament for Winnemucca Gold Rush 14U team was the Jayme King Memorial tournament in Fernley June 9-10. The Gold Rush started the tournament 3-0 on June 9 and earned the No. 2 seed going into the final day. The Gold Rush advanced to the championship game after a 13-7 win over the Carson Sharks 13-7. Winnemucca fell short in the championship game against the tough Fernley Havoc team 13-1 and brought home the 2nd place trophy.

At the Susanville Summer Slam on June 16-17, the squad finished the weekend 4-1. After suffering a tough loss against the Fernley Extreme on June 16, the Gold Rush got a convincing win against Fernley in the championship game 15-2, and brought home the tournament win.
