The opening games for the rural basketball season took place in Orovada on Saturday, Jan. 20. The kids were excited to begin the season and played well. In Division 2 (3,4,5 grades), McDermitt A defeated Orovada 15-10, while Kings River knocked off McDermitt B 14-11. Denio/Fields outscored Paradise Valley 10-0 in the second half to win 14-11. In Division 1 (6-7-8 grades), McDermitt defeated Paradise Valley 17-16 and Orovada beat Denio/Fields 36-15.
